NEET 2023 Preparation Strategy

When the NEET UG results were released—the nation’s primary entrance exam for undergraduate medical and allied courses—Arya RS, a proud girl from Kerala, received 711 out of 720 maximum marks. Arya is happy with her performance in the exam, which was written by more than 20 lakh students, and she scored an AIR 23rd. Arya grew up with the desire to become a doctor from her 2nd standard onwards. Arya’s next goal is to continue her studies at Delhi AIIMS. Through her achievement, she is sending the message that scoring low marks on the first attempt should never make a NEET aspirant disappointed.

Arya points out from her own experience that if you try hard, you will get a better rank. She scored 53067 for the NEET exam on the first attempt, and on the second attempt of NEET 2023, she secured an AIR 23. Arya talks about exam preparation and things to keep in mind to top the NEET exam. Arya studied at the Brilliant Study Centre in Pala and devoted 14 to 15 hours to study. Consistent hard work has helped her achieve this success. But she always followed a six-hour sleep schedule every day while preparing. In an interview with the Brilliant team, she shared her preparation strategy. If she studied for an hour, then she would take a 10-minute break. Her favorite pastime was singing and dancing. While taking a break between studies, she completely spared her time for singing and dancing.

Regarding NCERT text, she completely studied each and every concept from the NCERT textbook. The constant practice of model exams has helped her improve her NEET preparation. Arya says that she tried to write well in all the exams conducted by the coaching center and also practiced the question banks since they are multiple-choice questions, which has helped her with time management. She made short notes of equations in physics and chemistry topics and studied biology understanding each and every statement as the questions could be indirect. Once a week, she sets aside time to revise the things she studied that particular week.

Physics was the hardest hit, but she got full marks in Physics for the NEET 2023 examination. Physics was a relatively difficult subject for her to study. She devoted more time to studying physics than other subjects. Arya says that this method has helped her get full marks in physics in the NEET exam.

She also said that one should not get discouraged by not getting a good score on the first attempt at the NEET exam. The first thing to look at is, what were mistakes made in the first attempt and what should be changed in the study method. Correct the mistakes and try to learn. She worked hard with confidence and she got a better rank than the first attempt. Arya says that one should understand the concepts while studying. Practice by writing answers to questions, attending mock tests, and reading the NCRT textbook thoroughly. She also added that a NEET student should remain confident through the NEET exam.

Arya says that she got a good base through her studies in school, and because she learned the concepts clearly, she did not have to struggle much during the entrance coaching. At that time, priority was given to getting good marks in Plus Two. After that, NEET exam practice started. Arya was a student who scored 494 out of 500 in the CBSE Plus Two examination with 1st in Kozhikode district and 3rd in the state.
