4. Eligibility Criteria โ€“ Who Can Appear?

A. Indian Nationals & OCI/PIO (I) Candidates

You must satisfy all five of the following requirements:

1. JEE Main 2026 Performance

Be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the B.E./B.Tech. paper. Breakdown: OPEN: 1,01,250 | GEN-EWS: 25,000 | OBC-NCL: 67,500 | SC: 37,500 | ST: 18,750.

2. Age Limit

Born on or after October 1, 2001. (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PwD: born on or after October 1, 1996).

3. Number of Attempts

A maximum of two attempts in two consecutive years.

4. Class XII Appearance

First appearance in Class XII (with Physics, Chemistry, Math) in 2025 or 2026. Prior appearances generally disqualify you.

5. Earlier Admission at IITs:

You must not have been admitted to any IIT program under JoSAA 2025 unless you withdrew before the last round, did not report, or had your seat cancelled before the final round.

B. Foreign Nationals & OCI/PIO (F) Candidates

  • No JEE Main required.
  • Subject to separate registration and supernumerary seats (up to 10% of each course).
