CUSAT CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Engineering (B.Tech) Eligibility
- Academic Qualification: Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (Kerala Board, CBSE, CISCE, or equivalent) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects.
- Score Requirement: A separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, AND 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together.
- Category Relaxations: Candidates from Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) / Kerala Scheduled Tribes (KST) are eligible if they secure minimum pass marks. SEBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates enjoy a 5% relaxation.
Integrated M.Sc. Eligibility & Test Code Mapping
Candidates require a minimum of 50% in the qualifying Plus Two exam. Subject requirements and required Test Codes vary by program:
- Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, CS (AI & DS), Photonics: Requires +2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. (Must write Test Code 101)
- Biological Sciences: Requires +2 with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. (Must write Test Code 104)
- Chemistry: Requires +2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics OR Biology. (Can write Test Code 101, Test Code 104, or both)
- Environmental Science & Technology: Requires +2 with Science group subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics OR Biology. (Can write Test Code 101 or 104)
💡 Special Note: Environmental Science Seat Allocation
For the Five Year Integrated M.Sc in Environmental Science and Technology, seats are divided equally into two streams:
• Stream 1: 50% of the seats (12 candidates) are allocated based on the rank list of Test Code 101 (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
• Stream 2: 50% of the seats (12 candidates) are allocated based on the rank list of Test Code 104 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Note: If a sufficient number of qualified candidates are not available from one stream, candidates from the other stream will be considered.

⚠️ Mandatory Qualifying & Disqualification Criteria
- Negative Marking: Each correct answer awards +4 marks, while each wrong answer carries a -1 penalty.
- Test 101 Minimum Score: Candidates must secure a minimum normalised score of 10 for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together. SC/ST candidates are exempt from this minimum score requirement.
- Crucial Rule (All Candidates): Candidates who fail to answer at least one question in the examination will be directly disqualified and excluded from the rank list, regardless of their category.
