This dream might become a reality within the next few years. Kozhikode the paradise of Engineering and Management studies all over India will be opening a new AIIMS in the coming years. The planning to start an AIIMS has budded years ago, and the location is kind of finalised at Kinalur industrial estate, near Balussery in Kozhikode district.

If an AIIMS institute is opening in Kerala, Kozhikode will become the most familiar place of Kerala for Indians. Kozhikode is already an NIT and an IIM which is considered the best among its peers.

In 2014 the central government announced the establishment of AIIMS-like institutes in 10 states and Kerala luckily was one of them. The center was drawn by the long-standing demand for AIIMS in Kerala. As part of this, the Director of Medical Education, Dr.Thomas Mathew Visited Kinaloor on July 18. Kerala Government has already proposed around 200 acres of land.
