Why there are only 2 chances for JEE Mains this year?

Students were permitted only one attempt at JEE Mains exam initially but the number was increased to two attempts in 2019 and four in 2021.
This year the NTA has decided to conduct the JEE MAIN, the national engineering exam, twice this year instead of four.
The reason for offering four attempts last year was due to the Covid-19 situation. The situation was different due to the second wave. However, things have improved, and based on the current situation it has been decided that two attempts would be as beneficial.
For students preparing for the JEE Main and NEET exams this year, the JEE Main exams are expected to take place in April and May, and the NEET-UG exams in the last week of June or the first week of July. The first exam is likely to be held in April 2022 and the second in May.
The decision was made after comparing the current COVID-19 situation with last year’s situation. In addition, the registration process for this entrance exam may start at the end of February 2022. In this case, the JEE Adv exam, the IIT entrance exam, is likely to be held in late July or the first week of August.
The NEET-UG exam is also expected to take place in the last week of June or the first week of July.NTA officials said the final decision will be made this week and the schedule will be published.
