What to Do If JEE Mains is Not Cleared?

other than JEE mains

JEE exams are one of the toughest entrance examinations in India that give students entry into the prestigious IITs. The JEE exam is a highly competitive exam; therefore, cracking the exam requires a good amount of hard work and a little bit of luck. There are a lot of students who attempt the JEE exam every year; not everyone passes with flying colours. Not clearing the exam is not the end of the world, they still have an ocean full of opportunities.

You might have to think about what to do if JEE Mains is not cleared. This blog discusses the various opportunities that students can take up if they do not clear the JEE.

Always Have A Backup Plan

It is essential to have a backup plan while preparing for entrance exams. There are other entrance exams and other professional courses that a student can apply for in order to secure their future. It is always a requirement to follow one’s passion. Most of the entrance examinations or other qualifying exams have a similar deadline as the JEE examination. It is necessary to apply for other professional courses or entrance examinations along with JEE exam registration. If you fail to do so, you will only be able to apply in the next academic year.

Try Out Other Engineering Entrance Exams

JEE entrance examination scores can be used as an entry point for a couple of other engineering courses. The cut off might probably be lower when compared to other courses. The candidate has to be well aware of the institution they are choosing. JEE is not the only entrance exam that can assure you a future in the engineering industry. There are many other coveted colleges in the country for which you can prepare diligently along with your JEE preparations. Therefore, it would be ideal to apply for multiple entrance exams like:

BITSAT (Entrance Exam conducted by Birla Institute of Technology & Science)

State entrance examinations

VITEEE (Entrance Exam conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology)

NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture)

Appear In The Second Session

The National Testing Agency holds JEE twice a year. The first session of the JEE exam is held in January, and the second session is held in April. If the candidates feel that their performance wasn’t satisfactory in the first session; they can apply for the second session in April.

The national testing agency, or NTA, will consider both the exams and can take the scores from the best of the two.

Explore Other Options

Engineering is not the only course in India. If you do not fare well in any of the other engineering entrance examinations, you can still find a promising career by taking up courses which have equal prominence as engineering courses.

The candidate needs to find the course of their liking and start preparing for the same. There are emerging career opportunities in the field of data analytics and big data is a very favourable ground for pursuing your studies.

Attend The Exam Next Year

If you have set clearing JEE as your prime aim, the aspirant can gear up full-fledged to give the exam in the coming year. The candidate will have the upper hand, as he is going for the next attempt with an idea of how JEE pressure looks in real life. A whole year of preparation can be mentally and physically exhausting. So, take it up only if you are determined to get into IITs or NITs.

Consider Non-Engineering Options.

The candidates can choose to follow the subjects of their liking if they are not adamant enough to take up only engineering. Some students take engineering exams just because they are forced by their parents. Candidates can actually benefit from taking up lines of studies which is their passion and end up doing something they love. Taking up pure science courses like Bsc Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, etc. can be a lucrative option just like engineering.

Unique opportunities can be found in areas of interest like Robotics, Computational Physics, Data Science, etc., which can give a better probability to make a future in the field of innovative science and technology.

Apply for other Professional courses

BTech is not the only professional course that can be attempted by students who are interested in pursuing a career in science. Courses like BFtech, B.Arch, B.Sc Aviation, Bsc Natural Science, etc., are all options which branch out from the science stream. Good research will help you understand more options and can also help you save time in the preparation for JEE examination.

Hope you got a clear idea on what to do if JEE Mains is not cleared. An engineering aspirant must keep their options open while appearing for the JEE entrance examination. These entrance examinations can be for a particular state or a particular college. There might be differences in the placement opportunities. If you are good enough and litigious in your studies, the candidate can land better job offers after their course.
