What are the new updates regarding JEE Main 2024 examination?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the schedule and the updated syllabus for the JEE Main 2024 examination on the official website. The examination will be conducted twice a year: the first session in January and the second session in April. For the JEE Main 2024 examination, the first session is scheduled from January 24th to February 1st, and the second session is from April 1st to April 15th. The results of the first session will be published on February 12th, 2024, followed by the All India Rank publication on April 25th, 2024.
The JEE Main Examination is conducted to provide B.Tech. admission to the 31 NIT institutions, 16 IIIT institutions, and various other centrally funded institutes. NIT institutions have a total of 23,000 B.Tech seats, and IIITs have 7,000 B.Tech seats.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for the JEE Main 2024 Examination?

Students who completed class 12 in 2022 or 2023 and students appearing in class 12 in 2024 can also appear for the JEE Main 2024 examination. Thus, there are three consecutive attempts for the JEE Main examination. But for the JEE Advanced examination, the chances are limited to two. Either the student has completed class 12 in 2023 or should be appearing in class 12 in 2024.

NCERT-Deleted Chapters for the JEE Main 2024 Examination

For the JEE Main 2024 examination, the NTA has reduced certain topics from the subjects of chemistry, physics, and biology. The students preparing for the JEE Main 2024 examination have to be thorough about the syllabus for the exam.

Question Paper Pattern?

The JEE Main Examination has two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper is conducted over a period of three hours. Paper 1 has the subjects physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and Paper 2 has the subjects mathematics and drawing for the students joining B.Arch. In paper 1, each subject has two sections, each carrying 20 questions and 10 questions, respectively.

Therefore, there are a total of 90 questions carrying a total of 300 marks. Section B requires students to attend any 5 questions from each subject. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded, and for each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
