Are you appearing for the JEE Main 2024 examination? In this article, we are providing the eligibility criteria for the JEE Main examination.

As per the schedule, the NTA has declared the 1st session of the JEE Main examination from January 24th to February 1st and the 2nd session from April 1st to April 15th. Along with the exam schedule, the NTA has also published the eligibility criteria for the candidates. Students who passed the +2 board examination in 2022 or 2023 and students appearing for the +2 board exam in 2024 are eligible to attend the JEE Main 2024 examination. Minimum 75% marks are mandatory for the students who have appeared for the +2 board exam. To reduce the chances of rejecting the JEE Main application form, the candidates should have a clear idea of the eligibility criteria.
An engineering aspirant can attend the exam in three consecutive years. There is no age limit for the examination. The JEE Main Examination is conducted twice a year. Thus, a student gets a total of six chances to attend the examination.

JEE Main Exam Pattern

The JEE Main Examination has two papers: paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 has questions from mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Paper 2 is for B.Arch (2A) and B.Plan (2B). For BE/BTech courses, the JEE main test comprises 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying 300 marks. Paper 2A for B. Arch will have 82 questions containing 400 marks, and Paper 2B for B. Plan will have 105 multiple-choice questions containing 400 marks.
The examination is held online for 3 hours. For each correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded, and for each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be awarded for an unattempted question.
